Definition: Hash is the serum, or resin, collected from the flowers of the cannabis plant and a colloqial term for marijuana. The activie ingredient in hash is tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, and hash can be smoked in joints or out of bongs or pipes.  The effects of a high caused by smoking hash include sleepiness, pain relief, a feeling of relaxation, and increased appreciation of music and food. Most of the THC from hash is absorbed and catalyzed within the first few seconds of entry into the body, so holding smoke into the lungs for a longer amount of time will not hasten the achieved high.
